Money is a big part of our lives. How we earn money and how we spend money has changed a lot over the past decade. Learning to budget effectively wasn't something that came easy to me, it took a while and some months I spend far too much than I should. So, below I have put together some tips on how to try and make money last until payday. Or if you do ever find yourself short on cash and you won't last until payday, there are many options available out there for you, i.e. look online for a loan company.
Boosting your income:
Do a car boot sale, either on your own or with others. Make gifts of food, sewing items or woodwork to sell to people. Or if you have extra space, rent out your garage or a room in your home. Sell unwanted items on eBay is also a great way to boosting your income.
Review your spending:
Take a look at where your money is going. You know that you’re being stretched to the limit, but what exactly is causing you to struggle until payday? Review your bank statements to see what you need to cut out completely and what you need to start spending less on.
Every little helps:
The little things can help big time. There are many ways you can make savings. From the obvious things, like leaving the car at home and walking the kids to school, cancelling an unused gym membership or taking packed lunches to work.
Save a little:
Put a little aside each month, so when you do have any unexpected emergencies or bills, you have those savings available and ready to help you out. There are some great apps out there that allow you to set up automatic saving.
Find ways to lower your bills:
I love doing this, it's so very easy and simple to do to as well. You can use the many comparison sites to establish if you should move to a different provider or not. If they are cheaper, you can reduce your bills. Don’t forget to use cash back sites when signing up to a new provider, you will often find they offer great cash back.
