This Mother's Day I want to treat my mum to something extra special, something creative and personalised. My dad is very ill with cancer and has spent most of 2017 in hospital.  My mum has been by his side constantly. She goes to the hospital every morning and sits with him all day until evening. She hasn't had much time for herself and I've watched her go through a lot of upset and worry - it is heartbreaking, but I admire her strength and I love the love my parents have and share with each other. This Mother's Day I want to treat and surprise my mum with a DIY Mason Jar full of goodies -  goodies that she can spend some time pampering herself and looking after herself, even if for a few moments.

A Mason Jar is a creative and thoughtful gift for any mum this Mother's day. What I love about this crafty gift is you can customise it based on what mum likes and tailor it. For my DIY Mason Jar gift, I've picked items that my mum can use and enjoy, with a little pampering.

I decorated it with love and filled it with joy.

After decorating the jar, I added:

  • hand cream
  • face masks
  • lip balms
  • eye cooling roller
  • small bottle of white wine
  • chocolates
  • a mini hair brush keyring
  • soaps
  • scented minature pillow

Items I used for decorating the mason jar:

  • 1 mason Jar
  • glue (I used spray adhesive)
  • glitter
  • ribbon
  • decorative paper
  • pearl decorative gems
  • LED battery star lights

First I sprayed the glue inside the bottom of the jar and then sprinkled enough glitter in the bottom to cover. I let it dry and then tipped out and removed any loose glitter.

I then loosely added some beautiful star LED lights in.

I tied a ribbon around the neck of the mason jar and made a tidy bow to finish it off. I sprayed a little glue under, so the ribbon would stick and stay put.

I closed the mason jar lid and sprayed a little glue and stuck on some patterned paper on the top - I added two layers as the paper was quite thin.

I then stuck one by one little white gems around the edge of the lid.

I popped a scented pillow in the top, so it will give a lovely fresh smell once opened - which I hope to achieve a nice welcoming and warming scented surprise.

I placed all the items inside and closed the lid.

I love the finished mason jar full of goodies. I thnk it makes for a lovely gift, full of thoughtful surprise items inside and made with love.

I enjoyed shopping for all the bits and pieces I needed to make my DIY Mason Jar Mother's Day gift. I enjoyed it more so putting it together.
