5 Minute Fun
We were one of the lucky few to be given first access to a fab new fun 5 Minute Fun service.
The 5 Minute Fun service will email you two free 5-minute fun activities to you each morning. It's free to join, and each week will present a new theme of a different learning area, made up of free and exciting educational activities and ideas for you to try out together.
The best part is you can do the daily 5 minute activities anywhere at anytime.
5 Minute Fun is designed to encourage both you and your little ones to enjoy 5 minutes of fun together with an educational angle, developing your little one’s knowledge and skills in line with the Early Years Curriculum, such as Communication, Language and Literacy, Maths, Lets' Move, Creative, and Finding Out. Each activity is tailored to your child’s age – there are activities suitable for children of 2, 3, 4 and 5 years of age!

You can see what we got up to this past week, below:
Day 1: Summer had to pretend she has a pet dinosaur - she found Jacob's toy one and pretended this was her pet dinosaur and we discussed what her pet dinosaur would be:
big or small? Can it fly? What’s its name? What colour it would be? And, what it liked to eat?
Day 2: Summer imagined she was a little chick hatching. We had lots of laughs and giggles with this one. She crouched down low, tap-tap-tap, then stretched up high and wide as she hatched.
Day 3: We sorted out the recycling together. Summer enjoyed this task she had been learning about recycling at school before they broke up. We talked about what things are made from and sorted them into separate piles - one for plastic, carboard etc.
Day 4: Take the size challenge! Summer and Jacob pointed out 5 things that are bigger, smaller, taller and shorter than them. The bookcase is taller, the bed is bigger and our pet dog is shorter and the teddy is smaller.
Day 5: They had to draw what they would like to dream about tonight - Jacob drew the robot wars and the machine he would make in his dream. Summer drew flowers and butterflies as that is what she would like to dream about.
