Paris
When a new client at work invited me to join them in a meeting at their Paris HQ, I was excited. Yes! I have a reason to go to Paris, I can spend some time visiting the beautiful city, exploring, absorbing the charms.
But it didn't quite work out like that - I flew in the evening before, had the meeting the following day, and then flew home that evening. The meeting went great, but my excitement was short lived.
It also doesn't help that I suffer from separation anxiety from the hubby and kids, even after 18 years, I still can't stand it when I have to go away for a day or two - I hate leaving them, it is very hard, the guilt... Thus, I always end up booking the quickest route back to return home, when really there is no need. I could have taken an extra day and took the time to visit the beautiful sights, but to be honest, I would rather save that for another time and share it with my hubby.
It's been 20 years since I last visited Paris and fell in love with the city - far too long, but life happens and I've never had the opportunity to return. This trip I didn't even get to see the Eiffel tower or the Arc de Triomphe. In fact, all I did see was the airport, the hotel, the motorway and my client's HQ.
It was a tease... so close but so far.
But it has given me the zest to return for pleasure this time, with the hubby, where we can visit the beautiful charming city that I remember as a teenager.
The photos are even boring, the plane (I promised my son I will send him a photo of my plane).
