When I was asked if I would like to review Sudocrem Care & Protect, I have to admit that I immediately pictured the traditional little tub of Sudocrem that most of us probably recognise. I have used Sudocrem over the years and, for me, that familiar tub has always been the image that comes to mind when I think of nappy rash cream.

So, when a tube of Sudocrem Care & Protect arrived, I was pleasantly surprised.

I actually had not realised that Sudocrem had different products available for babies, so I was interested to try something a little different from the traditional Sudocrem cream that I already knew.

What is Sudocrem Care & Protect?

Sudocrem Care & Protect is a nappy rash cream designed to help care for your baby's delicate skin while helping to prevent the causes of nappy rash.

Unlike the traditional Sudocrem that I was used to, Care & Protect has a much softer and lighter texture. I found that it glides easily across the skin without having to rub it in too much, which is particularly useful when you are applying cream to a baby's delicate skin.

It has been developed specifically for babies and is hypoallergenic, making it suitable for everyday use. It can be used at every nappy change to help protect your baby's skin from the things that can contribute to nappy rash.

Sudocrem is also a brand with a long history. It has been around for 80 years and was introduced into the UK during the 1970s. Over the years, it has become a familiar name for many parents when it comes to caring for babies' skin and dealing with nappy rash.

A lighter texture for everyday use

One of the first things I noticed about Sudocrem Care & Protect was just how different the texture was compared with the traditional Sudocrem I was familiar with.

The triple care ointment feels light and smooth, and I found that it glided over delicate skin without dragging or pulling. When you are changing a baby's nappy several times a day, having a cream that is easy to apply makes things that little bit simpler.

It is designed to be gentle enough for everyday use and can even be used on newborn babies.

For me, one of the biggest benefits is that it is not something I only have to reach for once a problem has appeared. Care & Protect can be used after every nappy change as part of a baby's everyday skincare routine.

Using Sudocrem Care & Protect to help prevent nappy rash

I have been using Sudocrem Care & Protect after each nappy change to help protect Summer's delicate skin and prevent nappy rash. I found it particularly useful as part of our everyday nappy changing routine because the cream creates a protective barrier on the skin.

I prefer the tube for the changing bag

Another thing I really liked about Sudocrem Care & Protect is the packaging.

Instead of the traditional Sudocrem tub, Care & Protect comes in a tube with a flip-top lid. Personally, I found this much more convenient for keeping in the changing bag.

When you have a baby, the changing bag can already feel like it contains half the contents of your house. Anything that makes it easier to organise and carry those everyday essentials gets a thumbs up from me.

The tube is easy to pop into the changing bag and the flip-top lid means I can quickly open it when I need it without having to worry about carrying around a larger tub.

It is a small difference, but when you are changing nappies when you are out and about, those little things can make life easier.

Would I recommend Sudocrem Care & Protect?

I was pleasantly surprised by Sudocrem Care & Protect.

I went into the review expecting something similar to the traditional Sudocrem that I already knew, so discovering that there was a lighter, softer cream specifically designed for everyday baby skincare was a nice surprise.

I like that it is designed to be used at every nappy change and that the triple action formula focuses on protecting the skin, conditioning it and helping to guard against infection.

I also found the lighter texture easy to apply, and the tube makes it a really practical addition to the changing bag.

For me, Sudocrem Care & Protect is a useful everyday nappy changing essential and one I would happily keep in the changing bag.

If you are looking for a nappy rash cream that can be used as part of your baby's everyday skincare routine, Sudocrem Care & Protect is certainly worth considering.

Sudocrem Care & Protect has definitely given me another Sudocrem product to reach for, and I can see why having a product specifically designed for everyday prevention and protection can be useful for parents.
