Project Mc2 Spy Bag Review: Science, Secrets and STEAM Fun

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths might not always sound like the most exciting subjects to children, but finding ways to make them fun can make all the difference.

National STEAM Day was created to celebrate these subjects and encourage children to get involved with them, particularly encouraging girls to discover an interest in STEAM.

So, when we were given the opportunity to review the Project Mc2 Spy Bag, it seemed like the perfect way to celebrate.

Summer has been a fan of the Project Mc2 Netflix programme and the dolls for quite a while, so she was absolutely thrilled when the Project Mc2 Spy Bag arrived.

The Project Mc2 Spy Bag is pretty cool!

At first glance, it looks like a pink handbag, but it is actually packed full of spy themed activities and accessories. There are more than 20 items included, giving children plenty to discover and play with.

I think the handbag design is a really clever idea because it makes the science and spy activities feel like part of an adventure rather than something that feels like schoolwork.

The set includes lots of fun spy equipment, including an air blower disguised as a perfume bottle and a secret message launcher that looks like a lipstick.

There is even shimmery eyeshadow that can be used to dust for fingerprints.

For Summer, this was definitely a big part of the appeal. It combines something she already enjoys, playing spies and pretending, with science and experiments.

Learning Science Through Play

What I particularly like about the Project Mc2 Spy Bag is that there is an educational side to it without taking away from the fun.

The set comes with a booklet containing several science experiments for children to try. It gives them the opportunity to get involved, make things happen for themselves and discover what happens when different ingredients are combined.

I think hands on activities like this are a great way of encouraging children to become curious about science.

Rather than simply being told how something works, they can actually try it themselves.

The Fizzy Lemonade Experiment

One of the experiments included in the booklet is the Fizzy Lemonade Experiment.

It is a really simple experiment and one that creates an instant reaction, which makes it fun for children.

You simply pour lemonade into the test tubes and add half a teaspoon of baking soda.

And then you get bubbling lemonade!

Summer loved being able to carry out the experiment herself and see the reaction happening right in front of her.

I think that is one of the things I like most about toys like the Project Mc2 Spy Bag. Children can have fun playing while also learning about science and discovering how things work.

Encouraging Girls to Get Involved With STEAM

National STEAM Day is also about encouraging girls to become interested in science, technology, engineering, arts and maths.

I think it is important to introduce children to these subjects in ways that feel exciting and accessible to them.

The Project Mc2 Spy Bag does exactly that by combining science experiments with role play and imaginative play.

Instead of simply presenting science as something they learn about at school, it turns it into something they can explore through play.

For girls who already love Project Mc2, the spy theme provides an easy introduction to experimenting and discovering how things work.

We really enjoyed the Project Mc2 Spy Bag.

Summer was already a fan of Project Mc2, so I knew she would be excited about receiving it, but I also liked that there was more to the set than simply playing with the accessories.

It is full of fun activities and inspiration, while encouraging children to learn about science through hands on experiments.

I think it is a great way to encourage discovery, creativity and curiosity.

The combination of the pink spy handbag, secret agent accessories, imaginative play and science experiments makes it a fun set for children who enjoy getting involved and trying things for themselves.

For us, the Project Mc2 Spy Bag was a fun way to celebrate National STEAM Day, and it showed that learning about science doesn't have to be boring. Sometimes, all it takes is a pink handbag, a little imagination and a secret agent mission!
