Peppa Pig Electronic Learning Toys Review
I received two Peppa Pig electronic learning toys from Trends UK to review: the Peppa Pig Laugh and Learn Alphaphonics and Count with Peppa.
I liked the combination of familiar characters and activities that introduced letters, sounds, numbers and colours. Both toys were bright and colourful, with spoken prompts that encouraged listening and joining in.
Peppa Pig Laugh and Learn Alphaphonics
The Laugh and Learn Alphaphonics toy included seven activities, along with sounds and music. These explored the alphabet, spelling, phonics and word recognition.
I found it simple to use, and the carry handle was a useful addition for moving it around. I appreciated having those different activities together in one portable toy.
The character choices were a detail I noticed too. Rebecca Rabbit and Emily Elephant were included, and George had his own button. There was no mention of Mummy Pig or Daddy Pig on the version I reviewed.
Switching Off the Alphaphonics Toy
One practical point I noticed was that there was no off button. Instead, the toy switched itself off after three minutes without activity.
I would have liked a manual off button as well, but the automatic switch off meant it did not remain on indefinitely once play had stopped.
For me, the familiar Peppa Pig characters helped make the alphabet activities feel inviting. I enjoyed exploring the different options rather than having just one activity to repeat.
Peppa Pig Count With Peppa
Count with Peppa focused on counting, colour recognition and recognising pictures. It came with ten interactive play coins to use with Peppa’s purse.
Peppa asked for coins to be inserted, recognised which ones had been put into the purse and responded accordingly. I liked that the activity involved listening to a request and then choosing a coin, giving us something practical to do alongside the spoken prompts.
Counting Activities and Songs
There were eight activities encouraging children to look for different numbers, colours and pictures.
I appreciated that variety. It meant I could explore more than counting alone, using the different details on the coins as part of the play.
Count with Peppa also played three songs from the television series, adding something familiar between the activities.
My Thoughts on Both Peppa Pig Toys
I enjoyed spending time with both the Peppa Pig Laugh and Learn Alphaphonics and Count with Peppa. They offered different activities, with one focusing on letters and sounds and the other introducing numbers, colours and pictures.
I saw them as playful introductions to early learning rather than a measure of what a child should know. The enjoyment came from listening, exploring the buttons and coins, and joining in together.
At the time of my original review, both toys had a suggested retail price of £19.99 and were available from Argos. Those details reflect the original review rather than current prices or availability.
I thought both would make lovely gifts for a young Peppa Pig fan, particularly someone who enjoyed interactive toys with familiar voices and characters.
I received these toys from Trends UK for review. These are my own thoughts and reflect my experience with the versions I reviewed.
