Super Sweep Review: A Nostalgic Sooty & Sweep Favourite
When I was asked to review Super Sweep, I was instantly taken back to my own childhood. Sweep is such an iconic character from the much loved Sooty & Sweep show, and now he is back wearing a fun superhero outfit.
I loved Sweep when I was a child. He had that adorable cheeky charm, his slightly dim witted behaviour and, of course, his love of sausages. Then there were those cute floppy spaniel ears and his unmistakable squeaky voice.
So, when I discovered that I would be reviewing Super Sweep, I was really excited. The kids were pretty excited too!
Super Sweep Toy Review
Super Sweep certainly did not disappoint. He is every bit as adorable as I remembered Sweep being.
The first thing you notice is just how soft and cuddly he is. His fabric is lovely and plush, and he is the sort of soft toy that you cannot help but want to pick up and cuddle.
Of course, this isn't just an ordinary Sweep.
Super Sweep is dressed in his superhero outfit and has his very own super cape, which gives the familiar character a fun new look.
The kids loved him straight away and both Jacob and Summer have had lots of fun playing with him.
Super Sweep Squeaks and Talks
One of the things that makes Super Sweep even more fun is that he isn't simply a cuddly toy.
Give his hand a squeeze and Super Sweep makes his distinctive cackle and says some of the famous sayings from the show.
For me, this was probably one of my favourite things about him.
Hearing Sweep again instantly took me back to my own childhood. There is something quite lovely about introducing your children to characters that you remember yourself, especially when they enjoy them just as much as you did.
The kids found his sounds hilarious and, naturally, once they discovered how to make him squeak and talk, they wanted to keep doing it!
A Soft and Cuddly Superhero
Super Sweep is a really lovely combination of a traditional cuddly toy and an interactive toy.
He is soft enough to cuddle, but the sounds and superhero outfit give the kids something extra to enjoy when they are playing with him.
I think the softness is a big part of his appeal. He is very cuddly and has quickly become one of those toys that the kids like to pick up and carry around.
And let's be honest, who doesn't love a cuddly Sweep?
A Great Gift Idea
I think Super Sweep would make a lovely gift for a child, particularly if they already know and love Sooty and Sweep.
With his soft plush fabric, fun superhero outfit and interactive sounds, there is plenty for children to enjoy.
He would also make a particularly nice Christmas present for a young Sooty fan. I always think there is something special about toys that bring a little bit of nostalgia for parents while still being fun for children today.
We Love Super Sweep
Super Sweep has been a real hit in our house.
I love that he brought back memories of watching Sweep when I was growing up, while the kids have been able to make their own memories with him.
He is soft, cuddly, fun and, of course, very squeaky!
We love to cuddle Super Sweep, and I have a feeling his superhero cape isn't going to stop him from getting plenty of cuddles.
If you're looking for a simple game that gets the whole family talking, laughing, and occasionally debating some very silly questions, then the Would You Rather Family Edition Game is definitely worth considering.
As a family, we are always on the lookout for games that don't take ages to set up and that everyone can join in with, regardless of age. Between busy family life, health challenges, and trying to find activities that don't involve another screen, this game has become one of those easy go-to options that we can pull out whenever we fancy spending some time together.
