Power Rangers Dino Charge Megazord Review

Power Rangers has been part of our family for years. I remember watching it and playing Power Rangers with my younger brother, then my oldest son became a fan, and by 2015 Jacob was enjoying it too.

When the Power Rangers Dino Charge range arrived, the Dino Charge Megazord quickly caught his attention. It combined dinosaurs, transformation features and imaginative play in one large toy, so it felt like an exciting addition for a young Power Rangers fan.

What Is the Dino Charge Megazord?

The Dino Charge Megazord is made from three Dino Zords. The T-Rex Zord forms the main body, while the Stego Zord and Tricera Zord attach as the arms.

It is a substantial toy with a reassuring amount of weight. The pieces felt sturdy enough for regular play, while still being easy for a five-year-old to remove, rearrange and reconnect.

Using the Dino Chargers

The Dino Chargers activate extra features in each Zord. Inserting a charger into the Tricera Zord makes its tail pop out, while the Stego Zord gains an extended spike.

The Stego Zord's tail can also be removed in Megazord mode and used as a sword and shield combination. These small transformations gave Jacob more ways to create his own battles and stories.

The T-Rex Zord Transformation

The T-Rex Zord was Jacob's favourite part of the set. When a Dino Charger is placed into its mouth and the mouth is closed, spikes rise from the top of its head.

The action was straightforward enough for him to use independently. He could switch between the separate Dino Zords and the combined Megazord without needing constant help, which made the toy much more enjoyable.

Is the Megazord Easy to Assemble?

Each transformation is fairly simple once a child understands where the pieces connect. At five years old, Jacob could change the toy quickly after a little practice.

The arms detached easily when he wanted to swap them, but they stayed securely in place during play. That balance mattered because loose parts can quickly become frustrating when a child is trying to act out an energetic scene.

Build Quality and Play Value

The Dino Charge Megazord felt strong, robust and well made. The moving parts and removable pieces added interest without making the toy feel too delicate.

It also encouraged imaginative play. Jacob could recreate moments from the television series or invent completely new adventures using the different Zords and accessories.

Who Would Enjoy This Toy?

This Megazord was a good match for children who already enjoyed Power Rangers, dinosaurs or transforming action toys. Its size and interactive features also made it feel like a special birthday or Christmas present.

As this is an older toy, anyone buying it now may need to look for a pre-owned set. Check that the Dino Chargers, removable tails and both arm Zords are included, as missing pieces will limit the transformation features.

Our Final Verdict

The Power Rangers Dino Charge Megazord offered a fun mix of sturdy construction, simple transformations and imaginative play. The parts were easy for Jacob to handle, stayed together well and gave him plenty of different ways to play.

His final verdict was wonderfully simple: “Dino Charge Megazord is awesome!”
