Rise To The Challenge

Fenetic Wellbeing specialises in providing quality affordable mobility and home aid products for the elderly. And, they contacted me to see if I wanted to take part in their #risetothechallenge campaign. The challenge involves me refreshing an elderly relative's living room as a surprise - As my father is 76-year-old, he was my natural choice, and this was a perfect way for me to treat him and to say 'thank you'.

I knew I wanted to get my parents some new cushions (to replace my dad's very old, and worn one) for the sofa, and I thought a nice new rug (they don't have one) and some pot-pourri with a bowl, so this was my plan when I popped into the store and managed to find everything I'd wanted, and all the items and colours that would be a nice addition for my parents living room.

My parents went away for the weekend last week, so Sunday afternoon hubby, I and the kids popped around, where we laid the new rug and placed the new cushion, etc. and once we were finished, we felt proud with what we had done - they were small additions, but they had done exactly what we wanted to achieve, to refresh the room for them. My parents arrived home on the Monday to receive the pleasant surprise - and they were happy.

Is a brilliant campaign, but it also made me think, why wait for opportunities to come to you, why not take the initiative and refresh someone's living room - I don't think I do it enough and I've learnt from this experience that I can and should do it more. It not only makes you feel amazing, but it also makes them feel amazing.  If you are able to help an elderly relative, I highly recommend it.
