Review: Project Mc2 Pixel Purse
Summer's a big fan of Project Mc2, she has a few dolls and watches the series on Netflix.
What is Project Mc2?
Exclusive to Netflix, Project Mc2 is about four teenage girls who use their science know-how to be secret agents and save the day. The focus is on STEM studies and how they use it in ways to solve problems. Along with the Netflix series, there is a fab toy range, which is also designed to focus on and encourage STEM.
We were sent the Project Mc2 Pixel Purse for review.
The purse is easy to set up. The instructions are straightforward. The purse has an off, demonstration and on switch. To get started you download the app from either the Apple Store or the Google Play Store.
Once you connect your phone/tablet to the headphone jack inside the Pixel Purse, you are ready to start designing your pixel messages. You can also place your phone/small tablet inside the bag safely in the storage compartment - but if you choose to do this, it takes all the room inside the bag, no space to place anything else in the bag! You can still use the bag with no smart device, as it has preset graphics which you can change using the button on the front of the bag. You can also clip accessories to the hanging clip on the side.
Summer played around with the app, having loads of fun with it, she created many different designs, and her designs appeared on her Pixel Purse! We found the app is better and easier on a tablet, especially with the larger screen to draw your designs, but also my iPhone 7 doesn't have a headphone jack, so it didn't work with my phone, thus, we had to use the tablet.
The Project Mc2 Pixel Purse is certainly unique, and the concept is interesting and supports kids’ STEM skills.
