A minute to learn....a lifetime to master!

Othello is a true classic board game.  

It's a game of strategy for two players, played on an 8×8 grid board. Included are 64 game disc pieces, each disc has a white side and a black side. Players take turns by strategically placing discs on the grid board with their assigned color facing up. The game begins with 4 discs placed in a square in the middle of the grid, 2 facing white side up and 2 facing black side up, diagonal with each other. 

Each player has a colour, one side will be white and the other will be black. You then take it in turns to place one of your discs at a time, strategically trying to trap and capture your opponent by placing your discs each end of their colour - you then 'steal' their discs and turn them over to your colour, but, your opponent can do the same to you - one minute you are looking like the one with the most colours on the grid and with a turn the lead can change - it's tense right up until the final discs are placed in the final grid squares.

The player who has the majority of their own coloured disks showing on the board at the end of the game wins.

Even though it is a game of strategy, it is a fast paced game, where you have to outwit your component. 

I haven't played it since I was a child, so when I was invited to review it, I was super excited. Not only because I will get to play the iconic game again, but I get to introduce it to my boys.  We've played a few games, and I lost each one so far! I need some practice that is for sure, but it's a great family game to play.
