Conservation Crisis Board Game Reviewj
Conservation Crisis board game is a great interactive way to learn about the importance of conservation, and the challenges of a real-life environment struggle (saving endangered specious).
It is a strategy board game that is fun to play whilst also raising awareness about wildlife reserves and endangered species.
The game
The aim is to build your own wildlife reserve in crisis and to save endangered species.
You start with $100,000 (donor funding) and as you move throughout the board game, you choose which projects to build and staff to hire to rebuild your reserve and saving endangered species. It also involves wildlife emergencies, bribes and other dangers to navigate - all of which raise awareness of the real-life challenges faced by conservationists.
You keep an emergency Crisis Fund for unforeseen costs and losses of revenue and can only be used if you pick up the specific card.
There is a checkpoint run by the poachers where you choose to miss two turns or pay them a ‘bribe’ to continue.
Overall
At first it seemed a little complex (the instructions are very detailed), but once you get going, it is straightforward, fun, and educational.
The Conservation Crisis game has an RRP of £29.99 with £2 from each sale going to charities that fund conservation projects around the world and for children 7+ and between 2 t 4 players. it would make a great gift.
