Christmas Tag

Megan's missmadaboutnails blog started the Christmas Tag and I thought I would give it a go!

What's your favorite Christmas movie?

Elf - I love this film, we always pull the DVD out over Christmas and watch it a few times.. it is full of fun, laughter and warmth.

Do you stay in your PJ's or dress up for Christmas?
Half and half - PJ's until mid-day (because the kids wouldn't be too pleased if I kept them waiting until I got dressed), and then after all the presents are opened, some toys taking out of there boxes and the kids are content playing, I then disappear to doll up and then we are ready to go round my parent's for Christmas dinner.

Do you and your family open gifts on Christmas eve or on Christmas day?
Only ever on Christmas day, I could never imagine opening presents on Christmas eve, this would spoil it for me. For me it is all about seeing the kids excitement and surprise when we open the lounge door.

Favorite Holiday song?
The boys love and drive me crazy with 'Dominic the Donkey' we have it blaring out of the speakers with the kids jumping around and singing over and over again.  But for me my Christmas holiday song would have to be "Merry Xmas Everybody" by Slade - every-time I hear this song it gets me in the holiday spirit.

Favorite Christmas meal or treat?
Has to be Turkey and all the trimmings, especially the Brussels sprouts and pigs in blankets - yummy. Not forgetting the After-eights and Chocolate Hazelnuts.  When we were kids my parents would buy Shloer and my brother and I used to pretend it was wine, this was a highlight of mine, I used to think I was so grown up!

What happens on a typical Christmas eve night in your house?

Any 'panic' last minute wrapping of presents - yep unfortunately I do it every-year *sigh*. We normally either go out to our local Harvester with the kids, or we stay in and hubby cooks a lovely steak. Late in the evening when the kids have finally gone to sleep (after they have all got up to go the toilet about 10 times) we snuggle up with a bottle of wine.

Does it snow where you live?
It does, but never when you want it to - Christmas day - oh how I wish for a white Christmas.

Is your Christmas tree real or a fake?
Fake! I don't think I could handle all the pin needles coming off and getting everywhere, especially with my cat trying to climb the tree and pulling it over a couple of times - every year she does! My grandparents used to get a real tree, and I do remember and miss the fresh and seasonal smell of a Christmas tree.

Feel free to share your Christmas experience, and consider yourself tagged!

P.S. this is my first ever tag - I hope you enjoyed this posting? I enjoyed writing it. :)
