Air Hogs RC Thunderbirds 2 brings you an Authentic Thunderbird 2 design from Thunderbirds Are Go TV show, and the attention to detail is fantastic.

This is pretty cool and we've had some real fun with it.  It comes with a sturdy well-made handheld controller, which looks like a games controller but is green in colour.  The ThunderBird 2 is paperweight light, which makes it so much easier to fly.  It's made from special crash resistant material and is very robust - we have crashed it hundreds of times into the floor and walls etc. but it hasn't damaged once and still going strong.

It has a built-in gyro stabiliser blade, which the axis of rotation is free to assume any orientation by itself, giving you the levelling capability whilst flying it, thus, this feature allows you to fly it more effectively.

The set includes:

  • Thunderbird 2
  • Controller
  • USB charger

Included is an instruction leaflet, but batteries are not included, and you need 4 x AA for the controller.

There are two ways to charge it, once you plug the charging wire which is connected in the controller, plug this into the Thunderbirds 2 base:

  • Via the batteries in the controller, just connect the charging wire in the controller into the Thunderbirds 2 base.
  • Via the USB cable - you connect the USB cable into the controller, connecting the charging wire into the Thunderbirds 2 base.

Takes approx. an hour to charge and only lasts for 10 minutes before needing a recharge.

To get started you place your Thunderbirds 2 onto a flat surface and take off using the controls on the hand controller - then the fun begins.  The hand controller has two mini joysticks, one for up and down, and the other to make it turn.

Air Hogs RC Thunderbirds 2 is pretty cool and would make an amazing gift for a child or adult - especially any Thunderbird fans. RRP £49.99.
