Captain Pug - The Dog Who Sailed The Seas
Captain Pug - The Dog Who Sailed The Seas, written by Laura James and illustrated by Eglantine Ceulemans. The book is aimed for children aged 5 - 7 years old. It is brightly illustrated on the cover and on the page throughout the book.
Captain Pug is a great character (he likes his food and he hates water), he and his owner Lady Miranda are looked after by Lady Wendy who does everything inside the house and two running footmen Liam and Will who do all the errands for them.
Lady Miranda dresses Pug up in a fitting little captains outfit ready for a day on the water. But Pug doesn't like water - he even walks around puddles - and he soon realises that he doesn't want to be captain, and he is hungry.
Shortly after they arrive Pug gets separated from Lady Miranda and his day soon becomes an adventure as he sets off looking to find her, he gets to sail on different types of boats and meeting different people along the way.
It takes a while for the story to take off, but overall, it is a fun and quirky story that my 6-year-old enjoyed.
