Imaginary Fre

Now and then there is one book you come across that is special. A touching story that is sweet.

Friendship is important, it is rewarding, it is special and there is a special someone out there for everyone, no matter what your background is.

Imaginary Fred is a wonderful collaboration between children’s laureate, Eoin Colfer, and picture book superstar, Oliver Jeffers.

The story about Fred the imaginary boy, who is a friend to many and then he finally finds the friend of his dreams - the friend he deserves. The book tells the side of the imaginary friend and what it is like to be an imaginary friend. He has to live with the fact that the children he is friends with, will soon make their own 'real' friends and thus, Imaginary Fred will soon drift away as he won't be needed any more and then he has to await his next calling. When there is a child that needs a friend, this is when and where Imaginary Fred steps in temporarily, to be that friend. He does this all without any complaints, always being there and being the best friend that he can.

Imaginary Fred is a lovely story, that is both warm, and delightful. It takes you through Imaginary Fred's journey, until he finally finds the one special friend that won't ever not need him any more.

The illustrations in this book enhance the story, they bring it to life and makes the read more enjoyable. It is a joy to read this story to my children, a story that they both read, engage and  enjoy together.

This hardback book would make a lovely gift.  Available to buy in .
