Froggy The Jumping Colour Matching Game
Froggy The Jumping Colour Matching Game, is a huge hit in this household. We've never had a game which they play over and over like they have with Froggy since we received it.
Included in the box:
- Six frogs, each with a different colour disc on the bottom
- the stones
- the waterlilies
The object of the game is to collect the most waterlilies and the winner is the person who has the most waterlilies at the end of the game.
You start the game by first laying out the seven stones and place a frog on each stone, with one stone remaining empty. You then lay the waterlilies face down, around the stones. Turn over one waterlily and you are ready to start the game.
Each player taking it in turns chooses one frog to move to the empty stone, but whilst moving it, they tip the frog to reveal what colour is on the bottom, if the colour matches that of the waterlily, they win the waterlily. Another waterlily is turned to reveal its colour side and the player has another turn at moving a frog. If their turn doesn't match the waterlily its the next players turn.
Froggy The Jumping Colour Matching game is perfect for Summer and Jacob to play together. The first time we played they needed my supervision to teach them how to play the game but after that, it is something they can and do play on their own. I love that they're learning and using memory skills to remember where the colours are.
There are very few games in which I can do something like clean and watch them while they play on their own. It is a rare gem of a game that actually teaches them or hones skills at the same time as keeping them busy. A few times my older teen son has played with them too.
Straight after school, they will get the game out and play.
