Holidaying With A Campervan

Source

With the year we've had so far, which has not been good, we are in need of some time away as a family; even if just a long weekend, a nice break away from everything, somewhere where we can explore and enjoy the outdoors. An adventure.

This past 2-years we've been discovering our new found love of the outdoors. Each weekend we've enjoyed long walks, discovering new places, like the woods, lakes, coves, etc. beautiful places to take the kids and dogs. And, we want more.

We've talked quite a bit about visiting the Brecon Beacons this year. I've never been, but hubby has a few times when he was in the army. The Brecon Beacons will give us an abundance of fantastic countryside and beautiful heritage.

But, what's the best way to get the most of the mountain range?

When I was a kid, we travelled everywhere with the caravan, it was my dad's pride and joy. I have many fond memories from all our journeys and loved the experiences we had. We travelled all over, from visiting Wales, Scotland, to Switzerland and France, and more.  But, why don't we own a caravan? Well, that will be because, hubby has always had a dislike of caravans, not sure why, probably to do with the hauling it around slowly in traffic. So caravaning is a no go, and tents I don't think will work well with the kids. So what other options are there:

Exploring with a Campervan is new and different, and fun - I know the kids would love it.

But what I like most about this solution is, a campervan gives you the flexibility and freedom to travel, to explore, to be more spontaneous whilst on your travels. You can pull over if you spot a wonderful hiking trail or camping area. It allows you to take advantage of opportunities without having to return to 'camp'.

A Campervan is compact enough that allows you to drive into smaller villages, narrow roads without fearing that you may get stuck! (I remember the challenges of towing a caravan around when we were kids). And, you're not towing a caravan around.

Purchasing a Camper Van Conversion

When you mention Campervans I instantly think of the iconic vintage VW. Which are pretty cool, but there are many other options available. Buying a brand new Campervan looks quite pricey but Campervan conversions seem like a great alternative option. And, you can order the bespoke service to achieve the Campervan that fits your needs, desires, and wishes. You need to think about what you want from your break and what you want from your campervan. Do your research with websites like Base Campers and select accordingly.
