Christmas 2015
Christmas so much fun this year! In tradition I leave the bulk of shopping until the last week, thus, I did have a last minute panic - I don't know why I do it to myself, every year I say I am not going to leave it to the last minute, but hey ho without fail I do.
Last year we had Christmas at home, this first time in years! It went so well, we decided to do it at home again. Mother in law and my sister in law, her hubby and three girls. 12 of us and it was perfect - although, it would be better if my parents were there, but I have such a big family we can't all eat together.
The morning started off with us waking up, opening presents, setting-up toys/gifts, playing with new toys and just enjoying each others company.
Paul and I started cooking, then late morning my parents turned up with more pressies. Finally, late afternoon our guests turned up: my mother in law etc. We sat, ate, drank, played, and laughed.
It was also the first time I have ever cooked Christmas Day dinner! whoop whoop, go me! With the help of Paul, but it was delicious, just the way I like my Christmas dinner to be, and everyone enjoyed it. We had Prawn Cocktail for starters, the kids had melon. And for main we had a traditional Christmas turkey with all the trimmings. I made my own stuffing, honey roasted vegatables, with chestnut sprouts. Yummy. For dessert we had bought a centre piece chocolate from M&S - maybe next year I will make my own dessert.
Then we chilled, played games and enjoyed each others company.
Boxing day morning was a quick clean up, and with my parents, brother etc. all coming around, we put on a big buffet. When they turned up, they came with more gifts, thus, we opened more pressies, played a few games (Pie Face) and had tons of fun.
We played more games.
